LONDON - Former AJK Prime Minister and Pakistan People’s Party central leader, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chuadhry, will launch “Kashmir Million March” on Sunday (today) from Trafalgar Square to British Prime Minister’s House at 10- Downing Street in London where the participants would drop a memorandum. To make this march successful, Barrister Sultan has been very active in the United Kingdom (UK) for the last couple of weeks. It is pertinent to mention here that the “Million March” raised a sign of impatience in India when its request to the British government to stop this demonstration was outright rejected. The British government’s reply was that freedom of speech was a fundamental right of everyone and their democratic tradition allowed public meetings and the government could not snatch this right from these demonstrators. In this connection, Barrister Sultan visited the British Parliament on Friday and held meetings with deferent parliamentarian s to present his stance over the Kashmir Million- March. He told them that he had planned this rally to highlight the right of self- determination granted by the United Nations to the Kashmiri people. He maintained that the Kashmir March was going to make history in the world, adding so many groups of demonstrators were on their way to participate in this rally. This march has become significant as human rights organisations, a large number of members of European and British Parliament and different other bodies have announced to support the marchers, he added. He maintained that efforts to stop this march by Indian Foreign Minister Shusma Swaraj have failed. He added the march would leave a sound impact on the Kashmir independence movement.
