Last full day in Boston. Flash tours through some of the great museums with a promise to return. The Institute of Contemporary Art hangs over the bay. An extensive exhibit of art by Jim Hodges included art borrowed from as far as the Pompidou in Paris and the Witney in NYC. Then, from the bright and sparse at ICA to the dark and rich at the Isabella Stewart Gardner--this museum is an stunning collection of mostly Renaissance and Baroque art displayed on its own terms. Frames go floor to ceiling and you scramble to get a card describing EACH wall of art in each room of the giant palace. Unfortunately they would not let there be any pictures in the Gardner museum. Now for a little more time in the main Fine Arts which closes at 9:45. Kansas Citys museums still stand well in the nation. ICA is part of a small consortium of which the Kemper Museum of Modern Art belongs. Thanks for letting me share some of my work and play in Boston. Happy 4th!!
