Last night (10pm and 2:30am) was a fairly quiet night in our community. It started off with a search for a missing Jack Russell in Vryburger and then responding to a call of a car door left standing open. In the early hours of the morning, our patrollers found a garage door standing wide open, and contacted SAPS. They assisted, checking for any foul play and waking the resident to inform him (tx guys). A little while later, another car was found with one of its doors standing wide open. SAPS again assisted and no foul play was detected - the resident was extremely thankful. SAPS then contacted BNW to assist in searching for the suspect in an attempted car break in Huising Street. Patrollers roamed the area, even checking along the N7, but the suspect was nowhere to be found. The break-in was foiled by vigilant neighbours, arriving home and noticing the person hiding behind a vehicle (well done!). SAPS recovered implements used in break-ins. Thanks to everyone that patrolled last night and thanks to SAPS for working so closely with the Neighbourhood Watch.
