Last night, I came home to find myself locked out of the house - TopicsExpress

Last night, I came home to find myself locked out of the house with no spare key to be found. The dog wasn’t any help at all, as she just kept stating the obvious… “Open the door, Lady!! I’m in here and you’re out there, and I want to be out theeeeeerrrrrreeee!!!!!” No shit, Sherlock. Fortunately, Billy wasn’t far behind me. He didn’t have a key, either, but at least he had strong arms to haul the air conditioner out of the living room window so I could crawl in and unlock the door! Once we calmed the dog down, I went to work trying to wrap up my resurfacing project around the pool before it rains again. Haley was sitting in the wings watching me like a good girl… or so I thought… until she started barking for no apparent reason. Billy came to check on her and saw that there were doggie footprints with concrete paint walking across the carpet of the gazebo… and she was definitely saying, “OMG, Look at what somebody did!!! It wasn’t me! I’m a good girl!!!!!” So I could keep on working, Billy started scrubbing the rug, and got out the carpet cleaner to get all the paint out like a good little trooper. Then, again, so I could stay hard at work, he went inside and started cooking dinner. When I came in, up to my ears in sticky, painty yuckiness, he was cooking pasta, stirring sauce and chatting away with Ryan – everything under control. I thanked him for being my Knight in Shining Armor for the evening, and he laughed and said it was more like a Maid in Shining Armor… Well, to that I say, EVEN BETTER!! I don’t need to be saved, but I could really use someone to clean up after me now and then… and everyone else!! He’s hired. ;)
