Last night at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Longview I was honored and blessed by numerous ministers, family, friends, and other constituents who joined me for a commissioning service prior to the commencement of the 84th Legislature next week. Thank you pastors J. D. Palmer, Tom McDaniels, Lewis Thompson, Dr. Cary Hilliard, Wayne Mays and Rodney McFarland for bringing the charges, praying, and leading us in praise. Thank you pastors Eric Love, John Greene, and Bob Cammack for moderating and assisting with the Town Hall that followed. It was all a great blessing and encouragement to hear the Word of God, to pray and to discuss the upcoming legislative session. Thanks to all who came as well and participated. To all in District Seven and those who receive this, please know that I value your input and look forward to hearing from you throughout the legislative session.
