Last night at Sunday sangha, our teacher gave a talk on Generosity - TopicsExpress

Last night at Sunday sangha, our teacher gave a talk on Generosity and how many relate this to monetary and material objects. Generosity begins with giving to ourselves, such as the gift of time. I woke with this in mind and found myself beginning to repeat my pattern of get up and out of the house and get things done. I caught myself and paused. Instead I decided to be still, hang out, soak up a little sun by the pool visiting with neighbors. I was having a nice conversation with Tim and Julie about this and how they were able to organize their lives in such a way, they had several months off a year and travel around the rest of the time doing their work as landscape photographers. This is the next indicated step for me, to set my intention in doing what I love. Not what do I do for money, what I do for the world. In such a way that will sustain me. I can always find the love in what I do, now I really want to LOVE what I do. Having this deep and meaningful conversation was interupted by an introduction to another neighbor who felt the need to recite the last episode of Fox news. Well, the three of us remained silent and Julie finally said, no politics in the pool John. He said, its not politics its reality.... Tim and Julie looked at each other and said, you ready for lunch. Of course they were. John asked whats for lunch. Tim replied, peace and tranquility on rye
