Last night i was going thru some interviews of my mothers colleagues after she passed a way. I saw a lot of utter rubbish that was said. 1. Sukoot karda bood 25 saal. 2. Wakhte kay mordan baaz yaad meshan. 3. dar usa fahaal nabood. Here are the facts, she was selective and was of the opinion when you go on stage people should have a hunger to hear your voice and not say oh not her again. She was approached till her death by almost all local channels and Afghan channels abroad and for interviews but she was a private person and of opinion that her body of work should speak and not her. As fara as being active in USA she started her concerts from 1983 in california virginia Atlanta las vegas colorado New York canada. She has gone to several universities to promote Afghan Music and one that comes to mind is Pepperdine University. She gave many concerts for mujahideen and her last concert was in california in 2001 and she choose to not do it anymore and contrary to what they say that she could not walk or talk for years. She was talking till the morning she passed away and was walking. Proof is her interview with Haroon Jaan Yousfi from BBC who incidently gave all correct information about her and was always kind and supportive. Sorry this was long but necessary for me to let out.
