Last night our Ambassador attended an Independence Day reception hosted by President U Thein Sein, which was held on the lawn of the Presidential Palace. Diplomats had a chance to mingle and chat with cabinet ministers and other senior officials and their spouses. It was great to see so many ethnic leaders there too. Here is our Ambassador’s remark on the Independence Day “Wishing all of our followers a happy Independence Day! This 67th Independence Day comes at a very special time in the history of your country. The year that lies ahead is full of great challenges, but also great promise.”
