Lately Ive been finding a lot of meaning in a really special and awesome Dream Theater song called The Bigger Picture, and I feel the need to share it. Ive had a lot of setbacks this week like complicated problems with my experiments in the research lab, being rejected from Penns homecoming weekend battle of the bands (Which takes rappers and such so its not because Im not a full band...), etc. During times like this it really helps if I can remember to step back and look at the bigger picture: That Im really fortunate to be working on such an awesome research project in the first place and to have the resources and ability to make the music that I do, whether or not it is appreciated by a particular selection committee. I will continue making music and continue working on the research project, keeping the bigger picture in mind and remembering that doing anything worthwhile generally comes with many setbacks along the way.
