Latest Nielsen (ghostwhovotes.files.wordpress/2013/08/nielsen-130824.png) has some amusing age group breakdowns: In 18-24, primary votes are Labor 38, Coalition 32, Greens 21 (58-42 to Labor). In 25-39, primary votes are Labor 40, Coalition 40, Greens 12 (53-47 to Labor). In 40-54, primary votes are Labor 35, Coalition 49, Greens 9 (54-46 to LNP). And for 55+, primary votes are Labor 31, Coalition 57, Greens 6 (61-39 to LNP). The correlation of age with party support is most obvious. THIS is why polls that target only landlines (hi Newspoll, ReachTEL, Fairfax, Lonergan et al) are unreliable - because the demographic that use only mobile phones, or are out of the house more often (and thus away from their landlines) is weighted towards the younger population.
