League round winner SSU suffered a major setback when they lost to TRUGPU Nambol in the first knock out round yesterday. SSU Singjamei which is at the top in the league was defeated by TRUGPU by a solitary goal. Even though SSU got plenty of opportunities to convert goals they failed to equalise the single goal. The scoreline remained locked at 0-0 till first half. However, Th Johnson of SSU could convert a direct kick from the Centre into goal just two minutes before the end of the match. In the second match, TRAU Kwakeithel also ended the hope of ZFC Churachandpur to enter the next round beating them 1-0. ZFC is now out of the contention. S Ratan of TRAU scored the lone goal in the first half. TRAU put up a strong resistance against the ZFC. NEROCA will clash with MPSC in the first round while USA and AIM will lock horns in the second knock out match today.
