Lee Sets Career Milestones as Aggie By Brandon Gipe Goodwell, Okla. — Senior forward Bill Lee was recognized prior to Thursday nights game against Dallas Baptist for collecting 500 rebounds in his four-year career as an Aggie. Lee would reach another amazing milestone during the game, reaching the 1,000-point mark in scoring for his career. The Dallas Baptist Patriots came into the game one game under .500 with a 12-13 record, while the Aggies came in 2-24. DBU would even their record with a 79-71 win over the Aggies. The Aggies quickly jumped out to a 6-2 lead, but the Patriots would come back to within one, and from there the entire first half was a back and forth battle. Going into the half the Aggies were up 28-26. T.J. Farrell was the leading scorer for the Aggies after twenty minutes of play with six points; Farrell also grabbed four rebounds in the opening half. Bill Lee also had four rebounds and totaled four points. For the Patriots, Myles Johnson went into the half leading with 13 points. Jonathan Perry and Remy Ndiaye each had six rebounds at the break. The back and forth battle continued in the second half with the Aggies going from being up by six points, to down six points at the 13 minute mark. Baskets continued to be traded and the Aggies fought back to come within one point with seven minutes on the clock. The Patriots went on a run and took their lead to 10 points with just under two minutes left in the game and would hold the lead until the final buzzer. Scoring for the Aggies was evenly distributed. Senior Z. Jones led the Aggies in scoring while coming off the bench with 15 points. Bill Lee added 10 points, giving him and even 1,000 career points as an Aggie. Rebounds were also evenly distributed among the Aggies as Krys Randolph, Bill Lee, Dawayne Matthews, and Z. Jones each grabbed five boards. Randolph also led his team in assists with six. For the Patriots, Myles Johnson had the game-high with 24 points, while Jordan Pratt totaled 13; Jason Gentry and Jonathon Perry both added 10 points to the board. Remy Ndiaye finished with eight points and a game-high 14 rebounds. OPSU Coach Jerry Olson is proud of the effort displayed by his team; especially in the improvement in offensive rebounding (15 total). Were just not a 40-minute defensive team; we watched a lot of loose balls and long rebounds in the second half. Its also tough when your three best shooters go 7-33. Olson is also extremely proud of Bill Lees accomplishments. The Aggies wrap up the regular season Saturday against Oklahoma Christian, and will honor seniors Krys Randolph, Tavien Roesmond, Z. Jones, Kysahn Sands, Bill Lee, and T.J. Farrell prior to the game; tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
