Left us on this day (Aug. 20) in 2010: Charles Haddon (suicide, age uncertain), best remembered as the frontman for up-and-coming English synth-pop band, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool; formed in 2009, the band released one album, Christ Died For Our Synths, which spawned three moderately popular singles - of these, Dance The Way I Feel reached the UK Top 10 & Aussie Top 20; the 22-year-old Haddon, who had been combating depression, apparently jumped to his death from a telecommunications tower following the bands performance at the Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium (Michael Been of The Call suffered a fatal heart attack on the previous day of the same festival…see yesterdays postings); a subsequent London benefit concert in memory of Charles raised £8,000 for charities Mind and Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)...
