Lemme make a few points here please. Firstly, there is no such thing as Black on Black Crime Black people kill black people at an exponentially lower rate than whites kill whites and other races kill blacks. Black on black crime is a myth and tagline used to help enforce racial divisions. Secondly, large cities with massive poverty ANYWHERE in the world have higher crime and murder rates than every other place in that country. Murders in Chicago, Detroit, and New York are a direct reflection of oppressive economics enforced by zip code. Nextly, the looters are opportunists and its been proven that the looters arent even a part of the Ferguson community. And about the alleged theft: firstly, he was never a suspect in anything until AFTER his death. The alleged theft happened in June and the cop that killed Mike Brown admitted that he didnt stop him for being a suspect in anything because he was NOT a suspect. According to the officer, he stopped Mike Brown because he was walking in the street and impeding the flow of traffic, JAY WALKING!! You should know that in 2012 alone, police killed 136 black males and the Department of Justice and the Malcolm X Center for Social Justice released a study that shows that the police, security officers, and white vigilantes kill black males at a rate of 1 every 28 hours. 1 every 28 hours! Between the time you first wrote this and this time tomorrow night, 2 Black males will have been murdered by the police. The uproar isnt happening (or You dont think its happening, because it is) for Chicago and other places because the killers get swiftly arrested and almost always go to jail for extended periods of time. The ENTIRE WORLD (Tibetan Monks, students in London; people in Cairo; Hamburg, Germany; Paris, France and more places than I can think of right now) is standing in solidarity with Ferguson because police almost always get suspended WITH PAY for about a year and then get right back to work after murdering a Black male. There is a system that punishes civilians for murder but it does not punish police for the same crime. The entire reason that the revelation about Mike Brown all of a sudden being a suspect in a robbery (and the Ferguson Police Chief lied on National TV by saying that the robbery occurred that same day and that Mike Brown had evidence from the robbery on him. We now know that the alleged robbery happened a full month before Mike Browns murder) was to attempt to sully the murder victims name in order to attempt to justify his killers actions. Why else would you start off by saying Mike Brown was involved in a robbery then go directly to say that the officer did not even know that Mike Brown was involved or that he was even a suspect? Whats happening in Chicago, New York, Detroit and other places is awful and I hope that every murderer there gets the punishment that they deserve. But the truth of the matter is that every year the number of Black males murdered by police and other perceived authorities rises and these murderers have do so with indemnity of their freedom. Somehow, weve got to make everyone aware and even fear the backlash if justice isnt served swiftly so that the thought of harming us conjures images of fire and brimstone raining from the sky. Then, maybe, well all actually feel safe when the police come around.
