Lesson here: This is a capitalist (sort of) country. Capitalism stresses profit over everything else. If the bosses (big corpotations and those individuals that control them) can make more money, without passing some of it out to the workers, then it makes the bosses even more money. It increases their individual bonuses and all the other perks they get. And if you think that they actually care what happens to you - you might as well dream on. You are only an instrument to make the bosses even richer. The best I can say for it is that it is better than Socialism, which encourages laziness and non-productivity. But unless capitalism has some portion of Christian values associated with it, it is not a whole lot better. Every individual should learn to trust in themselves - not some mindless, souless corporation - and do what is best for them and their families. I could write a book about all these so-called company men that I knew over the years, who gave up much for the company, only to get screwed in the end.
