Lets keep the pressure up! We must stop the Social Security - TopicsExpress

Lets keep the pressure up! We must stop the Social Security Legislation Amendment (Increased Employment Participation) Bill before it passes through the Federal Parliament. The Bill establishes a Job Commitment Bonus, but excludes all SCV holders from eligibility for it. This would be the first time that federal legislation has deliberately excluded all New Zealanders from access to a government service or payment, regardless of their arrival date. It would set a dangerous precedent, potentially allowing the Federal Government to begin stripping more and more rights from Kiwis who came to Australia before 27 February 2001 and had previously been considered protected. We need you to contact relevant MPs and Senators and tell them to put a stop to this. We must bombard them with phone calls to send a very clear message - this nonsense will no longer be tolerated. Discrimination against New Zealanders is unacceptable. The following are the most important parliamentarians to contact: Senator Eric Abetz (Liberal) Minister for Employment (02) 6277 7320 [email protected] Luke Hartsuyker MP (Liberal) Assistant Minister for Employment (02) 6277 7540 [email protected] Brendan OConnor MP (Labor) Shadow Minister for Employment (02) 6277 4105 [email protected] Adam Bandt MP (Greens) Employment Spokesman (02) 6277 4775 [email protected] Clive Palmer MP (Palmer United) (02) 6277 4372 [email protected] Cathy McGowan MP (Independent) (03) 5721 7077 [email protected] Andrew Wilkie MP (Independent) (02) 6277 4766 [email protected] Senator Nick Xenophon (Independent) (08) 8232 1144 [email protected] Wed also encourage you to contact your local MP. You can find their details at: aph.gov.au/Senators_and_Members/Members - Tim
