Lets meet the Admins of Humans of CTY! What are your names? K: I’m Kenjiro. M: My names Madelynn. How was your day today? K: Cant complain. Comic-Cons tomorrow, so Im happy. M: Its been really nice so far! I still havent done most of my homework, but Ill get around to it eventually, haha. Do you run track? K: Does Cross Country count? Also, no. M: Spencer McClung. What courses did you take? Any favorites or recommendations? K: I took Cryptology in 12.1, Pop Culture in 13.1, and Number Theory in 14.1. Pop Culture was my personal favorite: basically you watch commercials and TV shows and Mean Girls and then you analyze what you just saw. Really great experience. M: I took PBIO in 11.1, Astrophysics in 12.1, CODE B (aka Crypto) in 13.1, and THEO A in 14.1. I loved all of my courses, but I think either Astrophysics or Paleobiology were one of my favorite classes. What is your favorite Canon song? The one you always find yourself crying to? K: Oh L’Amour is my favorite. The only time I’ve really cried to Canon was during the last dance at 14.1 when Forever Young started playing and I broke down. I’ve found myself unable to listen to any canon song since. M: Either Stairway to Heaven or Nightswimming. I have really good memories associated with both of them; in 12.1, my class always made a circle during Nightswimming and sang the song together. This year for Stairway, my friend Ryan and I danced together to that song at about half of the dances and in general its just an amazing song. (Also, Come On Eileen isnt Canon, but its played right before the rave song usually at LAN, and I love love love that song and I cry to it all of the time at home) What would you do for a birthday cake Oreo? K: Don’t look at me. Never had one. M: E V E R Y T H I N G. Did you get the Schnade? Were you blessed enough to get the Bons? K: I had the Schnade on the last day of 12.1, haven’t gotten it since. I did drink a Bons-contaminated SKL container at Passionfruit, but nothing came of that. M: I never got the Schnade (despite living there during 12.1), and as for the Bons I think I got a really mild version. Bonnie (aka Patient 0 of the Bons) was in my hall and I think she definitely passed a bit of it to me, but I never went to the health office. What is a specific CTY memory that makes you smile? Its probably too tough to choose a favorite... K: During Second Sunday hall-bonding, the boys form THEO B gathered in one of the rooms and watched Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Now, only a few of us had seen it (myself included) and we were saying stuff like, Its really funny! It has great music!. The moment the credits started rolling (MINOR SPOILER), two of my hallmates fell on their knees screaming that it couldn’t end like that. You got it, that smile that I get is one of evil. M: One of my favorite memories was from 14.1 when my friend Arianna brought about 120 (I think the final count was 121?) Peeps to CTY and we laid them on the ground right outside of South Ben and some of my friends and I rolled in the peeps while playing the song Rolling in the Deep in the background. Worst PCTYD experience? K: One day Mr. Brightside started playing while I was eating breakfast at a hotel. I was considerably annoyed. M: The day CTY ended and the week afterwards I wasnt actually sad about leaving CTY (Ive been saying that I was on a CTY High) but after that I missed CTY way more than I thought possible and I spent 5 hours going through all of the CTY pictures liking/commenting on them because I missed all of you so much Which of your lanyards do you love most? K: Definitely the one from my squirrel year. I tell you, it looks like it was well-loved—that’s because the sweat off of my neck melted the writing and turned the whole thing grey. M: Probably the one from 12.1. 12.1 was one of my favorite years (right before 14.1, my nomore year), and I still talk to most of the people who were in my class. The lanyard had a really cool color (Pink/strawberry for anyone who wasnt there) and although it isnt as sturdy as the ones from 11.1 and before, it means a lot to me personally. Are you going to MIT Splash? K: You bet! M: YESSSS I hope I can see all of you there! Where are you from? Which site did you attend? K: I’m from New Jersey, and I attended LAN 12.1, 13.1, and 14.1. M: I live in New Jersey. I attended LAN.11.1, 12.1, 13.1, and 14.1. Favorite thing to eat at CTY? K: KIVO pastrami sandwiches. M: My friend D Rock and I would always wait in the Meat Line in KIVO and get assorted meats; I usually got the burger. If you could eat nut products, would you? K: Ah, nuts.
