Lets say you run a bar and its not doing well. Its a holiday weekend and youre guaranteed to benefit from staying open. Customers have been making reservations for weeks and theyll be really angry if you close for the holiday. You have a lot on your shoulders and could use a vacation, even though loyal customers and that money would be a huge help. It would be wisest to stay open. But you close anyway and you think, Ehhhh theyll be other busy holiday weekends with needy customers. Id rather be on a golf course... Lets quickly compare: Run a bar, ignore responsibility, unhappy customers, another busy weekend, make up for money lost. Run a country (ruin it), negotiate with terrorists, ignore protests, say/do nothing, watch mass genocide, address it a few weeks later, immediately go on vacation to play golf... Watch an American get beheaded, verbally address the situation, immediately go to a golf course. And think, Ehhh theyll be plenty of other mass genocides and American casualties that I can worry about resolving - probably once theyre exposed and working on American soil.
