Lets take this time to remember Pearl Harbor. 73 years may not - TopicsExpress

Lets take this time to remember Pearl Harbor. 73 years may not sound significant, but what is significant about this years remembrance is that this years Dec. 7 falls exactly on a Sunday, the day of the week which it happened. Here I found a (low quality) YouTube video of P-40 Warhawks vs Mistubishi Zeroes in Michael Bays portrayal of the event in his 2001 film Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett as two fictional pilots: https://youtube/watch?v=LOWJvf-i8kE During the second wave of the Japanese surprise attack, two pilots (2nd Lt.s Kennet M. Taylor and George Welch) actually did take off in 2 P-40 Warhawks; they shot down 6 Japanese aircraft, and damaged at least 3 more: Taylor (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_M._Taylor): Killed - 2 Aichi D3A Val dive bomber (1 assisted by Welch) 2 Mitsubishi A6M Zero Damaged - 1 Aichi D3A Val dive bomber 2 Mitsubishi A6M Zero (1 assisted Welch) Welch (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Welch_%28pilot%29): Killed - 1 Aichi D3A Val dive bomber (saved Taylor) 1 Mitsubishi A6M Zero (assisted by Taylor) Damaged - 2 Aichi D3A Val dive bomber (1 assisted Taylor) Fellow aces, enjoy.
