Letter to editor from another past Lancaster mayor. ============================= Politics behind mailer shouldnt be fair game Since the last Lancaster city council election and all the endless, tiresome controversies, lawsuits, potholes and shocking comments from the mayor, I often mutter We got the government we deserve. But I refuse to say Oh well today. Here we go again. Another rex parris attack mailer targeted against a motivated, more-than-qualified candidate who wishes to serve his community. Obviously parris cant diminish or effectively argue against Ervins credentials or positions on the issues, so he will devolve into what candidate ron smith calls fair game and try to lead voters into the darkest corner with the worst kind of fear mongering. And lets get real here - the electorate isnt stupid and might, rightly, assume Ervin wasnt removed from the planning commission because he, as the developer confirmed, asked a question, but was fired because he stood up and refused to go along to get along and was the only no vote regarding the Quartz Hill walmart project. I can only applaud Ervins becoming a serious contender in this election, his stellar background, service to his country and consummate self-control and professionalism. Lynn S.
