Life is not fair. The world is not a fair place either. Many were born with silver spoons while some, with wooden spoons and others, with no arms to hold spoons at all. Somehow, life finds a way to screw almost everyone, almost everyone. I dont know much about other countries but I certainly know much about my country - the giant of Africa, Nigeria. And in Nigeria, life is far from being fair. Here, when you steal a small amount of money, you shall be labelled a poor thief. Your friends and faintly members may steer clear off you. Youll be treated like Ebola. Everyone will give you space, a lot of space. When you take the bar and raise it quite higher by mixing your thievery with some sort of technology, youre no longer branded a thief but a Yahoo Boy or G-Guy. Things begin to turn around, gradually. Your lost friends, like the prodigal son, begin to retrace their steps to you. All you need to do is commit more high-class fraud and make more money then the ladies will join the club. Theyll flock after you. Buy some good cars and grace some nice clubs. Youve arrived. Most of those that went to school to study will never find good jobs so theyll always come to you or to someone else like you. Either way, you don pass them be that! Here, when you kill a person - intentionally or unintentionally, youre tagged a killer. Youre a murderer and you deserve to go to jail. When you kill tens of persons, you graduate to be called a thug and the politicians will employ your services. Youll row with the big boys but not publicly. When you kill in tens, be quick to attach a course to your new hobby. Call yourself a freedom fighter and youll get government-sponsored contracts. You could also be sent to choice universities to study. Youre important. When you raise the bar a little bit more higher and you now kill in hundreds and thousands, wow! Youre at the echelon. Even the government will recognize patronize you. You might get to shake hands with the Presdent especially when you choose to let your boys do the dirty jobs. Whatever the case may be, when you commit a small evil and youre caught, you get a long jail term, life imprisonment or the death sentence but when you commit a high degree of evil - especially if youve caused mass mayhem and public unrest - youre sure to get a cozy self-contain apartment in the Prison. You can still see visitors or feed very well. Alternatively, you may even get amnesty so you might not be going to jail after all. If you choose to devote your life to the service of the country by joining the Nigeria Army, youre finished! Your superiors will siphon the money meant to equip you. Theyll join the government to create a Killer Squad of highly equipped Mercenaries. Then theyll send you on suicide missions with low grade and insufficient weaponry. Theyll also compromise your positions and leak information to your assassins. Your children will be fatherless and your wives will be widows. And when you protest this evil actions, youll be court marshalled and sentenced to death. Everything is wrong about this country. The omen is bad. The days have turned into nights and the terrors of the dead nights hunt us dead. All is not well. I rise!
