Life lesson/Parenting tip #241: When your child comes to you with a sensitive subject/question make sure you react/respond in a manner that will strengthen your parent/child bond and they will feel comfortable coming to you with tough questions as they get older. My paternal instinct was to blow up, tear the card to shreds, tell her this kid was the devil and find him....then I saw the look of fear and apprehension in her eyes and she handed us the notes. I didnt want to say something I would regret so I quietly left our room and punched a whole in my living room wall lol. My wife spoke with her, then we both talked with her. I hope she continues to feel comfortable to talk with us as she grows older even though she may feel uncomfortable about the subject or situation.
