Life sure has a way of kicking you when you are down. I wonder if Job came up with that saying. The old boy sure had a rough time of it. And it didnt happen to him all at once. It came in waves. One bit of sad, bad news after another. Punch, punch. Kick, kick. It reached the point where Job just wanted to die. Even that was denied him. He had three friends with fairly weird names that had the nerve to tell Job it was all his own fault, even though he was about a good a guy as you could find and did what God told him to do. A real down to earth faithful servant of God. Well at least he could depend on his wife for a little support, right? Nope, that didnt work out either. She was like a lot of wives today, not wanting to encourage or support old hubby, just push him down a little more. She told him “Do you still persist in your integrity? Curse God, and die. Well, I guess God got the last laugh on that old girl. She was the wife of one of the most well known bible figures, yet no one knows her name. Haha I always thought that was a little humorous. Well, old Job was a pretty tough customer and he hung tough through it all and maintained his faith in God. Eventually, he ended up with a whole lot more than what he had when everything went south on him. I always figured that the pioneers that settled our country knew something about Job, seeing that they were persistent and all and didnt give up when life kickedem around a bit. Well, I rambled on about all of this just to say, I dont have it as bad as what Job had it but I feel pretty kicked around sometimes.Especially lately. But I just need to keep thinking about Job and how the old boy kept believing in God when all seemed hopeless.
