Light-rail is an exceptionally wasteful government program -- as should be obvious, since it is largely 19th Century technology and, in case you were not paying attention, we are now in the 21st Century. The costs are staggering, and cannot be rationally justified. Building light-rail line more expensive than furnishing every new round-trip commuter a brand new Toyota Prius each year for 30 years.
