Little Big Town Are Officially the Newest Members of the Grand Ole Opry _________________________________________________ Little Big Town received a huge honor on Friday, Oct. 17. They were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry family, and it’s a pretty special place for them. It’s also the first place they ever publicly performed together! They were inducted by fellow Opry members Little Jimmy Dickens and Vince Gill. Opry Vice President and General Manager Pete Fisher was also there to present them with their award. Gill explained to the group just what it means to be a part of the iconic venue. “The word ‘family’ really means something out here. It really does,” Gill told Little Big Town on the Opry stage. “You’ll make friends like I have with this man right here,” he said about Dickens. “You’ll be so be blessed by the friends you’ll make out here, and they’ll last your entire life. Welcome to the family, and remember to come here as often as you can.” They invited Gill back on stage to join them in one final song during the special night. They had Gill sing ‘Why Me’ with them, a song by Kris Kristofferson. It was obviously a crowd pleaser, as the crowd gave them a standing ovation at the end. “Welcome them home,” Gill said following the performance. The trio were invited to join the Opry recently when they were surprised by Reba McEntire on stage. It was an emotional invitation that LBT just couldn’t turn down. They could have some other honors coming up, too. They’re nominated for Vocal Group of the Year at the 2014 CMA Awards, which air live starting at 8PM ET on Nov. 5 via ABC.
