Local leaders from three districts of Pallisa,Budaka,and Kibuku held a crisis meeting to discuss growing friction between two rival Bagwere cultural institutions claiming the crown of Ikumbania Obwa Bugwere.The Thursday meeting chaired by Budaka District Chairman,Mr Arthur Wako Mbozi,at Budaka Taxi-Park was to identify the grounds for the rivalry and find solutions to the conflict. The growing tension between the two rival cultural groups and the conflict has attracted the attention of the State minister for Gender and Cultural affairs,Ms Isanga Rukia Nakadama. The minister invited the warring parties to her office early this week for reconciliation talks after a petition by one of the groups.The petition arose after the May 16,declaration by the govt which named Obwa Ikumbania bwa Bugwere,led by Bishop John C.Weyabire,among the gazetted 13 cultural institutions in the country. The other faction claiming the Obwa Ikumbania bwa Bugwere clown is led by His Highness Mubbala Kintu. In my opinion,is this bickering the way to go for Bugwere?? I think its Not. In your view,what should be done to end this rivalry (btn the two warrying factions) and ensure unity amongst the Bagwere?????
