Logical- most Americans stayed where they were...continuing to do what theyd done...birthing children to do as their parents had done... Of the 26% that moved up in to the middle class... - 53% were college grads - 50% had both parents working - 34% didnt become unemployed (Duh?) Moral: If you want to move beyond your current situation...DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. - for the lower class this means get a better education and work your butt off doing work that pays well... - for the MIDDLE CLASS this means you can a) get a bunch of education and a GREAT job and work your butt off or b) budget, control your expenses, and invest in assets especially those that generate income (as opposed to boats, new cars, and other doo-dad anchors of the middle class) - Anyone want to bet me that the 4% of the lower class and the __% of the middle class that moved into the High Earner category owned businesses???
