Long read but, worth the story I think......Oh, the adventures Andy Mclaughlin and I can get into while drinking and having fun......starts out with me on the back deck and Andy walking across the yard toward the shed, he steps in an area of grass that keeps dying on us with NO explanation what-so-ever. Anyway, as I watch him he walks back across it a few times and exclaims how it pops like a mason jar lid....he then kneels down and starts knocking on the ground! oddly enough it sounds like hes knocking on a door.....I take a sip of my drink and tell him as he comes back from the shed that MAYBE it is a treasure chest and its right below the surface....we forget about it for the moment and go in and check on the sauce simmering on the stove, make new drinks and head back outside....sitting outside chatting again every now and again he would go and knock on the ground...I kept begging him to get the shovel and dig....Naw its to late...naw its not anything....okay?? Why does it sound like your knocking on a door? Eventually he wandered up to the corner of the garden and got the shovel and began digging the area...I get up and go help....Im pulling away the sod as he is shoveling....we find a large piece of metal and dig until we find the edges. As he is prying up I begin pulling back....THERE IS A HUGE HOLE...Im not talking a dog dug up the yard hole but A HOLE! Andy heads in and gets a flashlight. He peers in and starts saying Wow, WOW. Im thinking maybe its TREASURE (Im sure its the gin or tequila convincing me of that) He hands me the flashlight and I tentatively peer into the hole in our yard WOW. Its a brick like room filled with guck, beer cans, bottles and something wrapped in plastic (to be determined what that is tomorrow in the daylight) I dont think its an old septic tank as there were no closed off or capped ports from the house...concrete covers the top except for the (about 14) hole we were peering through....we covered it back with the metal sheeting and sat on the porch speculating what it could have been....of course Andy had to say he has now let spirits out...he is sleeping soundly, Im making another drink and conjuring up spells and wards to keep evil away (sigh) moral of the story,,,imagination can run wild, imagination is fun....always take time to have adventures with your love! Enjoy every moment and if your acting like kids at our age?! Who cares! DAMN I love the adventures we have
