Longtime Huskie supporter Pete Johnson, a World War II veteran, participated in Honor Flight Chicago earlier this week, receiving an all-expenses paid trip to the World War II Memorial in Washington DC. On his flight home, Johnson received his “Mail Call” which included a number of letters from members of the NIU Athletics Department. On this, the 70th anniversary of the invasion of Normandy, we thank Mr. Johnson and all World War II veterans for their service to our country.
