Lonnie Russell “Rusty” Payne, 62, of Marengo, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was born December 8, 1950, in Louisville, to the late William Russell and Caroline Marie Grider Payne. He was a retired maintenance supervisor at St. Columba Catholic Church and School in Louisville and was a member of the catholic faith. Rusty was a loving father and an awesome “Pappy”. He loved watching NASCAR and WWE and loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Robbie. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Donna Sue Staples Payne; his children, William Payne of Louisville, Bunni Swihart (Eddie) of Louisville, Carri Payne of Delaware, Kristi Payne (Jonas) of Corydon, David Payne (Charity) of Marengo and Teri Pollock (Randall) of Corydon; his grandchildren, Chris, Todd, Aly, Cati, Jessi, Justin, Corey, Brian, Winton, Chance, Kylie, Dalton, Russ, Maggie, Kobe and Kaci; and his best friend, Vinie Ritchie. There will be a private memorial service at a later date. Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon is in charge of arrangements RIP RUSTY!
