Looking back at post from last year makes me reflect on what Caelynn has gone through as well as the rest of her family. It has been the hardest part of our life so far but we made it through and for that I thank God. I remember the feeling of helplessness when they said she had a tumor in her femur bone (Ewings Sarcoma) and then I felt my heart break as they said amputation or rotationplasty were the only two options. Then the unexplainable happened...she was admitted to start her first chemo treatment and all these Andreas were all over the place...If anyone knows about our family they know the story of Pauls beautiful counsin Andrea. In the second set of scans the imaging showed the tumor had shrunk more than 50 percent but I had already started preparing Caelynn for amputation or rotationplasty by showing her videos. Then a week before the date of her scheduled surgery for amputation we met with the Radiation doctor and he said it was an option for Caelynn. If it wouldnt save her leg at least it would give her more bone to save for a better prosthesis and a better quality of life. May 1, 2014 we got the news that radiation worked and no amputation would be necessary. Now we hear that more than likely the cancer is gone and the fracture and radiation effects are causing the abnormality in the imaging. As of right now no surgery is necessary but there is still a small chance she will need it in the future. For now I will continue having faith in our Lord and just believe that no surgery will be necessary ever. The news from yesterday was just so wonderful but dont think it has hit us yet. Once again thank you all for the prayers, support, and all of the words of encouragement. We couldnt have done this without you all!! If you dont believe in miracles maybe this will make you reconsider a bit!! Our God always has the final word!!!
