Free Press Houston is hiring for the following internship positions: Writers Writing Intern Job Description: Creating original content for the Free Press Houston website. Must be able to produce 2-3 blog posts a day with interesting, relevant content that fits our core readership Editing (must have working knowledge of AP Style) Promoting content via social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) Assisting with marketing collateral for internal communications, FPH-related events, etc. Requirements/Skills: -Must be a junior/senior in college working toward a degree in communications, event management, journalism, public relations or other related fields. Hours worked should go towards fulfilling course credits. -Strong organizational, written and verbal communications skills. -Knowledge of social media outlets and tools such as Hootsuite, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, etc. -Working knowledge of Photoshop, Excel, Google Docs. -Knowledge of AP Style. -Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage several on-going projects at once. -Must be able to take initiative and be proactive while still being able to work in a team environment. -Must have reliable transportation.
