Please Join us on August 14th 8 -12:30 when First 5 California’s Hands-on-Health Express will be at our College of the Desert’s (COD) McCarthy Family Child Development & Training Center The Health Express will have two locations at the McCarthy center The first will be an information booth just inside the entrance for parents to learn more about the First 5 program. Representatives of the program and partners from the Riverside location will distribute English and Spanish Kits for new parents, First 5 California pamphlets, Cal Fresh pamphlets, flashcards, Yummy Tummy Cook Books, calendars, stickers and more. The second area will be in a classroom at the center allowing a hands-on experience for the children and their parents. First 5 play activities include a farmer’s market, photo wall, spin wheel, story time rug, coloring blocks, hula hoops, balls and COD has a scholarship grant with First 5 Riverside that funds about 17 children each year for child care services.
