Lost and Found – that’s the name of my website. I like that pair of words because it echoes the natural duality of the world. Although it’s natural to want to avoid hardship (or to be lost), touching it every now and then is not such a bad thing. When we do, it reminds us to appreciate better times rather than becoming complacent and taking them for granted. Loss is an inherent part of life, which is always followed by a rebirth. Just look to nature for confirmation of that fact. And even though you might feel alone when you’re feeling lost or have lost a loved one, Haruki Murakami tells you differently when he wrote, “Every one of us is losing something precious to us. Lost opportunities, lost possibilities, feelings we can never get back again. That’s part of what it means to be alive.” Reach out to others in similar situations to find a community of loving support.
