Love Song to a Mediocre Planet Its a mediocre planet And some always make the rules They all chant that things are better But it is the song of fools. And some chant that things are getting worse That they dont want to hear And a single phrase that bugs some one Will end your whole career. Its a mediocre planet And it fills me with disgust Not quite like the metal iron Which will always turn to rust: Its their series of decisions Its their lovely points of view Its their constant small revisions Which will make a mess of you. Its a mediocre planet Whether For or Against God For or against some Great Dictator Whether old fashioned or mod. For or against a Wad of Money That will always make some smile For or against A Show of Sweetness Or dissection of the Vile. Its a mediocre planet Well whoever makes the rules They want Brains or Talent or Honey Or a plethora of Jewels They want Types for all their Images Which do vary every year: If you can perceive some of their patterns They can make you disappear.. Its a mediocre planet That Idealists try to change They do battle with the Realists To determine what is strange The Romantics seem to suffer As the Classicists get bored And the scoundrels get the money While the nice guys just get gored. Its a mediocre planet And alas it always was You can market some new progress Or some reasons of because; You can market a regression Or some frozen status quo Its a mediocre planet: Wherever one might go. Its a mediocre planet Yes they told me dont complain: Its a quirk of your neurology Or excess sense of pain. Its unusual perceptions Or a different point of view Then they send you to Their Doctors Who will make a mess of you. Its a mediocre planet With its mediocre wars And its mediocre peacetimes Led by mediocre bores: All the people will cooperate Though they are always wrong While elites fritter their billions And kill millions for a song. Its a mediocre planet With their mediocre crowds Led by mediocre speakers Selling mediocre clouds With their mediocre pleasures And their mediocre jobs Built for mediocre hustlers And mediocre snobs. Its a mediocre planet With the mediocre wives And the mediocre husbands In their mediocre dives With their mediocre language And their boring dull ideas And their mediocre policing And their mediocre fears I do hope this doesnt bother you That you are not like me That you tolerate the madness In appropriate degree That you babble all the right cliches And proper points of view And that mediocre masses Proclaim a Kingdom built for you. I do hope this doesnt bother you And that you dive right in And follow all Those Orders And do never quite give in : Youre the kind we always honor No we do not mind some force Or else manipulations From some hero on a horse. Its a mediocre planet Which of course I cannot change And you are all the Normal Folks And I am always strange And you are always Honest And I do always lie And youre the best that we will get When i just stumble by But if I work my ass off And take the doctors pills I will overcome these ;bad thoughts And transcend all of my ills. And become a bit less sensitive So that Im just like you Add slices of the spiritual For angelic brew. Then Ill embrace Majority And all of its Beliefs I shall kiss the tushes of their Gods And honor all their thiefs I shall bless all of their murderers Believe all of their whores So they dont toss me in the street And let me stay indoors. Yes it is the best solution That man has ever had: Best you are a clone of bro and sis And of your mom and dad: And then the Leaders love you Before they grind you up Nice when such Good People shove you And declare come on grow up! And if you are Minority Alas then woe is you: Down below the Group is Everything And nothing you can do. You were born with self and heart and mind We stole that useless stuff And honored your splendid IQ: Cant thank us here enough! LikeLike · · Promote · Share
