MAKE YOURSELVES A NEW HEART AND NEW SPIRIT (Ez 18:31) Arminian Premise: A just God would not command anything we cant obey My response: Ok, my humble challenge to EVERY Arminian on planet earth OBEY Ez 18:31! Dont cite bits and pieces of Ez 18 which is an almost verbatim parallel to Ez 33 (often cited by Arminians as a proof passage against sovereign-grace). Obey the whole thing! Keep ALL of Gods precepts (Ez 18:21) - which means keep the WHOLE LAW, by the way. (Gal 3:10-12). DO THIS, and you will live, God said. For WHY will you die? Dont downplay it, JUST DO IT! Make YOURSELVES a new heart AND a new spirit - just as God here commanded. Prove your premise here. Obey this! Dont explain it away, OBEY it. And PLEASE dont cite a very poor mistranslation like the NIVs GET a new heart and a new spirit. But keep it accurate as quoted above MAKE YOURSELVES as per - NASB, ESV, KJV, ISV, NET Bible, Jubilee, KJV 2000, AKJV, ASV, Darby, ESV, Douay-Rheims, Youngs Lit, Websters. When you DO enough righteousness to live by YOUR OWN WORKS - for that is precisely what Ez18, 31 promise, then come let God and everyone else know how YOU did it where all others failed! Come back and tell us all how it was that YOU made yourselves the very thing which God a few chapters later declared HE would sovereignly do! (Ez 36:21-31)...only HE can do! You see, God MUST supply the very thing He requires. THAT by the way, is THE doctrine of redemption. May God give light.
