MONDAY 11TH NOVEMBER ...BELIEVE THAT YE RECEIVE AND YE SHALL HAVE “Therefore I say unto you, what things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” Mark 11:24 God’s word is the standard by which we live our lives. What that means is that our experiences must be in line with the word of God and not the other way round. There are some Christians who expect God’s word to agree with their experiences. That will be like a footballer who expects the goal post to go wherever he kicks the ball. Obviously that cannot happen. If our experiences do not seem to be in line with the word of God, then what we have to do is to ask ourselves what more we need to do or know in order to generate our desired results. The text above is the key to having all our desires come to pass in our lives. It states “…..what so ever ye desire...” God took the limits off. There is nothing anyone could desire in this earth that would not be within His ambit to provide. So He says, whatever your desires, just present them to Him in prayer. That is the first step. The second thing He says is that after you’ve placed them before Him in prayer, believe that ye receive. So the receiving occurs at the instance of asking. What we need to know from the word of God is that receiving is different from having. Receiving occurs at the instance of asking, but having may occur afterwards. But without receiving, you cannot have. If you receive something from God in prayer, you prove it by making it your confession. For example, maybe you desire to have a car, you first present it before God in prayer. Then in that same prayer believe you received and therefore your attitude should be that of thanksgiving. That is “Father thank you that you have heard me, I receive it by faith”. From that moment you can see your car through the eyes of faith. It is after your attitude portrays someone who has received that you will go to the next stage of having or possessing it physically. Let these simple steps guide you in your requests to God and you shall possess all your desires in Jesus’ name.
