#MONGOLRALLY #17: Well the car is coming along nicely. We have done the following so far: We have fitted: replaced brake discs and pads additional battery tray and added a battery T-Max Split Charge (Dual Battery) System Spotlight / Auxiliary Relay Wiring Kit Rear Shock Skid Plates / Guards tuned the engine fitting new filters, oil, fluids and spark plugs welded on two rear axle trusses for strength removed the rear seats We have ordered: New shock absorbers for 4 lift all round New brake calipers for the front We are ordering New Goodyear tyres (these are MONSTERS!) Battery isolation switch (for security) replacement headlight (s) - maybe (got a wobbly one right now) We have not been able to fit: transfer box cover (the exhaust layout is in the way) We are fitting: Fuel tank guard - this may require drilling out some rusty bolts to fit it but I have my man on the case at the garage. Keen to get this fitted. WishList: Second hand Recaro seats for the front (more comfort and safety) pumped up stereo and MP3 player We have possible sponsors for: Dash cam and GoPro HD recorder (courtesy we hope of Bill Birch) Fuel (secret sponsor who I am trying to get sponsor our fuel via corporate visa) We have bought and await fitting: 2 x 20 litre jerry cans (Marktplatz) 2 x 10 litre jerry cans (Marktplatz) 1 x 5 litre jerry can (at a Paris street sale) To fit in future: Thule car roof box (bloody big but will store a lot of stuff!) - I own this Rear door holder for jerry cans (spare wheel in back - too heavy) SPONSORSHIP We have reached: EUROS 2.371,21 and I will start really chasing people now! We have 21 days to go. A car which is still in bits, no decent music, no clothes, tents or sleeping stuff organised, 60% of the visas complete, only just got car insurance, but have health and travel insurance.
