MONSOON TIME IN ARIZONA! As we were driving out of our canyon to come to Phoenix to get to the Marriott, stay over night and then, this morning, hop our plane for Vancouver, the Monsoon was building along the Rim (Mogollon Rim is 7,000 feet in altitude and where we live, the Verde Valley, is at 3,500 feet ). The Monsoon is a weather phenomena that happens every year in the Southwest from June-September, bringing much badly needed rain to the desert areas and we sure look forward to it. But I look forward to the magnificent clouds, the cumulo-nimbus mammatus and thunderstorms that are created because of the unstable air. These were taken at Sunset Point, just above our canyon.
