Gods being is then essentially limited and conditioned as a being revealed, i.e., as a relation of God to man. Man is thus thought of as indispensable to God. But this destroys Gods freedom in the act of revelation and reconciliation, i.e., it destroys the gracious character of this act. It is thus Gods nature (cest son metier, Voltaire) to have to forgive us. And it is mans nature to have a God from whom he receives forgiveness.
