MORE OR LESS CDC CONTROL? Dallas County leaders today will meet at 2pm to declare a local state of disaster because of the Ebola scare. That will free up money, and give them more local control. Last night on FOX 4 News at 9, Dallas County Health Director Zach Thompson clearly appeared to want to cut the CDC out of part of the process. He said his department would NEVER have advised the feverish and Ebola exposed nurse it was OK to fly. I asked: that sounds like you dont want people to even call the CDC? Answer: We accept your guidance (CDC), but we got a top doc in Dallas. He said: I want them to call the top doc, Dr. Christopher Perkins, Dallas County Medical Director and Health Authority.
