MORE THAN 2,600 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES MADE AVAILABLE AT FT. LEONARD WOOD JOB FAIR TODAY.... The Army Career and Alumni Program is scheduled to a host a Hiring Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday at Nutter Field House here. The event is free and open to the public and employers. “Hiring fairs assist transitioners in meeting with potential employers and preparing for interviews,” said Beverly Rowe, transitions services manager. “They’re a great opportunity to meet with employers at a convenient location.” The event will help job seekers receive information about general career opportunities and learn more about opportunities and specific details on current openings. More than 55 employers will be represented with a potential of more than 2,600 employment opportunities. According to Rowe, new employers coming to this event include: Dollar General, Gamestop, Baxter Health Care, Express Scripts, Great Circle, Houston Texas Police Department, Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, Mervis Industries, Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Piney Ridge, and area colleges and universities. “Be prepared to do a quick summary of your skills and experience so that you can promote yourself to prospective employers and have some relevant questions prepared,” she said. Rowe said participants should also dress professionally, bring extra copies of their resume and prepare a one-minute commercial. “Be prepared to discuss your career goals, show initiative, be enthusiastic, and network with others attending the job fair,” Rowe said.
