MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER MOVING SONG - STAR SPANGLED BANNER My friends, 200 years ago, in the midst of a battle, the British were determined to destroy Ft. McHenry. They bombarded the Fort and tried desperately to shoot down the flag. But little did they know that the brave souls in that Fort were equally determined the flag would not fall. Young Francis Scott Key was on that boat to negotiate the release of prisoners held below deck. With the bombs bursting in air, and the rockets red glare, the prisoners asked Key to let them know if the flag was still there. Can you see the flag they cried. Key continued to report that against the sky lit by the bombardment, the flag was still flying proudly, though tattered and worn. My friends, our nation is under siege again. Tyrants within wreaking havoc on our freedoms, our heritage, our faith.
