~ MORNING PRAYER • Opening Sentence Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Isaiah 60:1 • Collect of the Day ~ The Third Sunday after the Epiphany Give us grace, O Lord, to answer readily the call of our Savior Jesus Christ and proclaim to all people the Good News of his salvation, that we and the whole world may perceive the glory of his marvelous works; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. • A Collect for Peace O God, the author of peace and lover of concord, to know you is eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. • Of the Holy Angels Everlasting God, you have ordained and constituted in a wonderful order the ministries of angels and mortals: Mercifully grant that, as your holy angels always serve and worship you in heaven, so by your appointment they may help and defend us here on earth, especially those who are in harm’s way; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
