MP for Chua Chu Kang GRC, Zaqy Mohamad, who was co-opted into the central executive commitee of the Peoples Action Party earlier this month will not be able to proceed with the appointment. The party in a statement said that this was due to regulatory compliance reasons as Mr Zaqys employer, Ernst & Young, is the current auditor of the PAP. The CEC has accepted Mr Zaqys request and says it looks forward to his contributions to the Party and Singapore. It has decided to co-opt Mr Baey Yam Keng MP for Tampines GRC, into the CEC.
