MY TAKE: It seems to me that we have a lot of professing Christian authors, bloggers, and leaders who seem to think they have the power to ignore the truths of Scripture -- especially the passages that speak directly to todays hot-button issues. Whether to please their followers, demonstrate inclusion, or merely elevate their platform and sense of self-importance by taking a different approach to our cultural struggles, these individuals are placing themselves in grave danger by leading people astray. Scripture is clear that those of us who teach will incur a stricter judgment. Perhaps Im being harsh, but I dont understand how these individuals have time to become experts in theology when theyre pastoring churches, leading conferences all over the place, writing best-selling books, and meeting the needs of their spouses and families. As a minister myself, I KNOW how much time it takes for me to serve the Lord, my family, and my congregation. To me, something just doesnt quite add up.
