Mama Question: Hi! This is not related to bf but Im hoping you post this. If you do, please please post anonymously. My LO is almost 1. When I first found out I was pregnant with her, my mom was diagnosed with cancer. The time she was given was small. My entire pregnancy, we were uncertain if she would meet my baby. My mom was a fighter and held on with every might. She met my LO but passed away 3 weeks after the birth of my daughter. As my Babys 1 yr birthday is approaching, so is the anniversary of my moms passing. Ive been feeling really down and quite isolated. I have a wonderful husband, a few close relatives and friends. I miss my mom so much and wish she could share all the happiness of watching her first grandchild grow. I think what makes it even more difficult is that Ive not found anyone who is remotely a mother figure. I crave that presence in my life. Has anyone gone though anything similar? What has helped? Any words of support/encouragement? I am in grief counseling and its fine but the loss is so huge. -Kath
