Manhattan, NY - ***ANYTHING BUT AVERAGE*** As usual, a Volunteer has captured the essence of this big, handsome boy named Pekka! A Volunteer writes: “Curious about his unusual name, I found out that Pekka means rock, an almost ironic title for this beautiful boy because if anything its sweet, nervous young Pekka who needs a rock right now, someone to lean on when hes feeling sad and a family wholl always be there for him no matter what. Intaked as a stray but already neutered and in near perfect physical condition, its quite clear that not too long ago Pekka had a home and people to call his own. Cast adrift in a strange new place, hes distracted and understandably a bit out of sorts yet still managed to ace his behavior evaluation and was so good with fellow pups in playgroup hes already been promoted to Helper Dog status, working with other dogs during their own assessments… This gorgeous boy takes treats very gently, likes to be petted and even offered up a couple of soft kisses as I hugged him close for our selfie. If youve been searching for a pet who combines great looks and good-natured gentleness in just the right amounts then theres a certain long, lean hunk at our Manhattan Care Center who cant wait to meet you.
