Many of you know this but my EX-husband is a burn survivor & amputee. We all get along great & I am very greatful for that. I honestly believe the tragedy changed our lives for the better & gave him not only a 2nd chance at life but also a 2nd chance to be closer to his kids & family. He is very close to his kids. My grandson calls him uncle joe.. Im not even sure how that started but Gaige named him that & its stuck. Last night we stopped by there for Miranda to pick up something & to see Brandon for a few minutes. Gaige insisted he go in to see uncle Joe; Joe takes him on rides on the front of his electric wheelchair so of course Gaige thinks hes just the coolest! Gaige has never mentioned The fact that Joes leg is not there or seemed to even notice any difference at all until last night & he said so sincerely your toe is missing, that makes you very very special! I was very proud of our little guy, kids say what they think & often times hurt feelings without intending to. Gaige truly believes being different makes you special.
