Mark Burnett and Roma Downeys Son of God Hits Theaters in February and Has Already Won Over Spiritual Leaders By James Love, BREATHEcast News Reporter Nov 13, 2013 04:09 PM EST Roma and Downey were met with a lot of speculation before the release of their hit 10-part miniseries The Bible on History Channel earlier in the year. After it became the number one telecast on cable the criticism mounted twofold. Well, theyre back to prove all the naysayers success can be repeated when you trust in God. Son of God, the movie, will hit theaters February 28, 2014. Instead of recapping popular stories from the Bible leading up to Jesus crucifixion, Son of God will just focus on the messiah himself. Popular spiritual leaders are already buzzing about how the movie is one of the best portrayals of Jesus, played by Diogo Morgado, ever made and how its sure to win over many new believers. Pastor Rick Warren says, Ive seen most of the films about Jesus produced in the past 50 years. Son of God stands alone in a class by itself. It is a powerful and poignant movie, the best Jesus movie I have ever seen. I know it will be a blessing to millions when it opens all across America. Bishop T.D. Jakes says, I believe the audience will be enthralled, encouraged and inspired by the movie Son of God. Showrunners Mark Burnett and Roma Downey are happy they have the opportunity to share the story to the huge group of people who responded to their History Channel miniseries. We are very excited to be working with Twentieth Century Fox to release Son of God as a major motion picture, said Downey and Burnett. We responded to an overwhelming demand for the greatest story ever told to be seen as a shared experience on the big screen. Its the story of Jesus for a whole new generation. © 2013 BREATHEcast Christian music. All rights reserved. Please do not reproduce without permission.
